D&D Therapy Group

SPRING 2023

We are looking for 10-17 year-old adventurers!

What:
This is a group setting using therapeutically applied role playing games for simulation training in a variety of skills such as critical thinking, team building, emotional intelligence, and collaborative problem solving. We simulate social scenarios in which your student can practice self and family goals for increased social and emotional skills.

Who:
The group will consist of your student, up to four other fellow students, a storyteller who creates encounters for your student to interact with, and a therapist who engages as a player alongside the students in order to observe their behavior and offer guidance.

When:
Sessions for Spring 2023 will begin March 29 and conclude July 12. We will meet weekly for 90 minutes at the Green Country Psychology clinic for 16 total sessions. We will skip dates in which school is out of session (if applicable).

How to get started:

  1. Please complete the inquiry form by following this link. Once we receive your inquiry, we’ll call you to set up a 15-20 minute consult to discuss needs, challenges, and goals of your adventurer. If the group seems like a good fit, we’ll invite your adventurer to a first game session.
  2. The first game session is a “no commitment” gameplay meeting to assess the fit of player/adventurers.
  3. After the first meeting, assuming the group continues to be a good fit, we will ask you and your adventurer to commit to the remaining game sessions.

If the group is not a good fit for your adventurer, we will not charge you for the initial game session. We will keep a waitlist for future groups, or we’ll help you find resources or make referrals for other services.

Cost is $65 per session. One session fee will be waived if you choose to prepay for the 15 remaining games sessions following the first no-commitment session. Fee arrangements can be made through our office.
