Individual Therapy Tailored to You

Developing Thoughtful, Competent Psychologists and Clinicians

Supervision & Training

At Green Country Psychology, we are committed to cultivating the next generation of mental health professionals through high-quality supervision, mentorship, and immersive training experiences. Grounded in psychodynamic and psychoanalytic principles, our training model emphasizes emotional insight, ethical integrity, and professional identity development.

We offer structured clinical training opportunities for postdoctoral residents, advanced doctoral practicum students and interns, master’s-level clinicians in training, and psychological technicians seeking to grow within a relational, trauma-informed, and assessment-driven practice.

Our Supervision Philosophy

Supervision at Green Country Psychology is reflective, developmental, and rooted in relationships. Drawing on object relations theory and modern psychodynamic models, we support trainees in:

  • Understanding and using transference and countertransference in treatment

  • Developing emotional and diagnostic formulation skills

  • Enhancing cultural humility and ethical decision-making

  • Balancing technical competence with clinical presence and curiosity

  • Deepening awareness of personal values, reactions, and professional identity

We view supervision not just as oversight, but as a vital learning relationship—where growth happens through thoughtful exploration of the work, the self, and the therapeutic process.

Postdoctoral Residency Program

Our postdoctoral residency offers advanced training in psychotherapy and psychological assessment across the lifespan. Residents receive:

  • Group supervision and case consultation

  • Didactic seminars focused on psychodynamic theory, trauma, and assessment

  • Opportunities to work with diverse populations and referral questions

  • Experience providing therapy, testing, and multidisciplinary collaboration

  • Support for licensure and professional development

Residents are gradually given increasing clinical independence while maintaining consistent, relational support from supervisors.

Note: Residents are compensated and provided with structured onboarding, evaluation, and mentorship throughout their training year.

We accept doctoral interns in psychology seeking comprehensive, supervised clinical training through OPPTC.org. Interns participate in:

  • Individual and group therapy delivery

  • Psychological testing and assessment administration

  • Case conceptualization and treatment planning under supervision

  • Didactic learning opportunities and interdisciplinary collaboration

Internship supervision is intensive and geared toward helping interns meet licensure requirements while honing their skills in a supportive environment.

We accept a limited number of advanced-level doctoral practicum students. Students typically engage in:

1. Individual therapy with children, adolescents, and adults

2. Psychological testing under close supervision

3. Participation in team meetings, didactic learning, and supervision groups

Applicants should have a strong foundational understanding of psychological theory, an openness to depth work, and interest in developing as both a therapist and evaluator.

Training for Psychological Technicians

Green Country Psychology also trains bachelor’s- and master’s-level psychological technicians in the ethical administration and scoring of psychological and neuropsychological tests. Technicians are supervised closely by licensed psychologists and contribute to the assessment process as part of a larger clinical team.

We provide:

1. Hands-on training in test administration

2. Education in psychometrics, ethics, and cultural considerations
