Developing Thoughtful, Competent Psychologists and Clinicians
Supervision & Training
At Green Country Psychology, we are committed to cultivating the next generation of mental health professionals through high-quality supervision, mentorship, and immersive training experiences. Our training model is grounded in psychodynamic principles and emphasizes emotional insight, ethical integrity, and professional identity development.
Training at Green Country Psychology
Supervision and training at Green Country Psychology is not a secondary offering — it is a reflection of our belief that excellent clinical care and excellent clinical education are inseparable. We offer structured training opportunities to practitioners at multiple stages of their professional development, from doctoral students and interns to postdoctoral residents and master’s-level clinicians pursuing licensure.
Trainees at Green Country Psychology work within a relational, trauma-informed, and assessment-driven practice. They gain real clinical experience while receiving consistent, thoughtful supervision that challenges them to grow as both technicians and reflective practitioners.
Our Training Programs
We offer five structured training opportunities, each designed for a specific stage of professional development. All programs operate within a relational, supervisory framework and involve direct clinical work under licensed psychologist oversight.
Postdoctoral Residency
Our postdoctoral residency offers advanced training in psychotherapy and psychological assessment across the lifespan. Residents receive consistent relational support from supervisors while being gradually given increasing clinical independence. Residents are compensated and provided with structured onboarding, ongoing evaluation, and mentorship throughout their training year. Postdoctoral residents receive: • Weekly individual supervision from licensed psychologists • Group supervision and case consultation • Didactic seminars focused on psychodynamic theory, trauma, and assessment • Opportunities to work with diverse populations and referral questions • Experience providing therapy, psychological testing, and multidisciplinary collaboration • Support for licensure preparation and professional development
Pre-Doctoral Internship
We accept doctoral interns in psychology seeking comprehensive, supervised clinical training. GCP participates in OPPTC (Oklahoma Professional Psychology Training Consortium), connecting us with pre-doctoral internship opportunities in the region. Internship supervision is intensive and geared toward helping interns meet licensure requirements while honing their clinical skills in a supportive environment. Interns participate in: • Individual and group therapy delivery • Psychological testing and assessment administration • Case conceptualization and treatment planning under supervision • Didactic learning opportunities and interdisciplinary collaboration
Advanced Doctoral Practicum
We accept a limited number of advanced-level doctoral practicum students. Applicants should have a strong foundational understanding of psychological theory, an openness to depth-oriented work, and an interest in developing as both a therapist and an evaluator. Practicum students typically engage in: • Individual therapy with children, adolescents, and adults • Psychological testing under close supervision • Participation in team meetings, didactic learning, and supervision groups
Master's-Level Clinicians in Training
Green Country Psychology provides supervision for master's-level clinicians pursuing licensure as LPCs or LMFTs. We emphasize preparing clinicians to offer competent, thoughtful care across a variety of settings while fostering their growth as reflective practitioners. Our supervisors: • Guide clinicians through ethical and clinical practice standards • Support development of psychotherapy skills grounded in psychodynamic and trauma-informed approaches • Provide supervision in psychological assessment administration as appropriate • Facilitate professional development through consultation and case formulation work
Psychological Technicians
Green Country Psychology trains bachelor's- and master's-level psychological technicians in the ethical administration and scoring of psychological and neuropsychological tests. Technicians are supervised closely by licensed psychologists and contribute to the assessment process as part of the larger clinical team. Technician training includes: • Hands-on training in standardized test administration • Education in psychometrics, ethics, and cultural considerations • Ongoing supervision and review of scoring and observational data • Clear pathways for future graduate training or expanded clinical roles
Our Supervision Philosophy
Supervision at Green Country Psychology is reflective, developmental, and rooted in relationship. Drawing on object relations theory and modern psychodynamic models, we support trainees in developing not just clinical competence, but clinical character: the self-awareness, curiosity, and ethical grounding that defines excellent practitioners over a career.
Our supervisors work with trainees to develop:
- Understanding and skillful use of transference and countertransference in treatment
- Emotional and diagnostic formulation skills
- Cultural humility and ethical decision-making
- Balance between technical competence and clinical presence
- Awareness of personal values, reactions, and evolving professional identity
We view supervision as a vital learning relationship, not merely as oversight. Growth happens through thoughtful exploration of the work, the self, and the therapeutic process.
We Are Trusted By More Than 2580 Patients
