Reflective. Systems-Aware. Professionally Grounded.

Consultation for Professionals

At Green Country Psychology, we offer consultation services for mental health providers, healthcare teams, educators, and organizations navigating complex clinical challenges and professional decisions. Our consultation work is grounded in the same psychodynamic, relational perspective that defines our clinical practice.

What Is Professional Consultation?

Professional consultation is support for practitioners, teams, and organizations rather than for individual patients. It may take the form of one-time case consultation, ongoing peer support for a clinician navigating a complex situation, systems-level guidance for a healthcare organization, or structured training for a school or workplace.

Good consultation creates space to think clearly about difficult problems. Our psychologists bring clinical depth, systems awareness, and a reflective stance to every consultation engagement, whether that means sitting with a therapist on a challenging case or helping an organization understand how psychological principles apply to the way they work.

Who We Serve

Our consultation services are designed for:

Our Consultation Services

We offer four types of professional consultation, each tailored to the needs of the individual, team, or organization we are working with.

Clinical Case Consultation

Sometimes a case calls for a second perspective. We offer clinical case consultation for individual practitioners and small groups of clinicians who want to think through a complex or challenging clinical situation. Consultation may address diagnostic questions, treatment decisions, relational dynamics, ethical considerations, or countertransference. Sessions can be one-time or ongoing, and are available in person or via telehealth.

Organizational & Team Consultation

We provide systems-aware consultation for healthcare organizations, clinics, multidisciplinary teams, and nonprofits navigating clinical or organizational challenges. This may include support for teams experiencing high stress or burnout, consultation on clinical program development, or guidance on integrating trauma-informed or psychodynamically informed practices into an existing care model.

Educational Consultation

We consult with schools, educational leadership, and school counselors on topics related to student mental health, behavioral concerns, and creating supportive learning environments. Educational consultation may focus on a specific student situation, a systemic concern across a grade level or program, or staff development needs.

Professional Training Programs

We offer customizable training sessions for schools, businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations that want to better equip their teams to support mental health. Sessions are led by experienced clinicians and can be adapted to your audience, setting, and goals — offered as a one-time session or a recurring series, in person or virtually.

Professional Training Topics

Training topics may include:

  • Trauma-informed practices in the workplace or classroom
  • Managing stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue
  • Building a culture of mental wellness and open communication
  • Youth behavioral and emotional development
  • Suicide awareness, prevention, and response strategies
  • Understanding and supporting neurodiversity
  • Recognizing signs of anxiety, depression, and other mental health conditions
  • DEI-informed mental health practices and creating inclusive environments

Our Approach

Consultation at Green Country Psychology is not prescriptive or formulaic. We bring a reflective, psychodynamically informed perspective that takes seriously the complexity of clinical work and the systems within which professionals operate. We are as interested in the relational and emotional dimensions of a clinical challenge as we are in the technical or procedural ones.

Whether we are consulting with an individual therapist on a difficult case or working with an organization to develop a more trauma-informed culture, our goal is the same: to help the people we consult with think more clearly, work more effectively, and care for themselves and others with greater confidence and intention.
